At our calm and welcoming studio on Francis Street, Anne McMahon offers two distinct paths to self-care:
Bare Beauty – professional waxing, lash and brow treatments
Bare Sound – vibrational sound therapy for deep relaxation and emotional wellbeing
All treatments are by appointment only.
First-time clients will need a patch test at least 24 hours before any tinting, lash lifting, brow lamination, or waxing.

Healing is for everyone , but sometimes not all therapies are suitable for every person . Anyone with Pacemakers ,cochlear implants ,ICD should seek advice from their doctor before getting a treatment. The frequencies may interfere with their devices frequency. ![]()
Pregnancy is allowed in the the second and third trimester but should get the go a head from their Doctor. Currently undergoing cancer treatment is not recommended, post treatment recovery stage can receive sound massage, seek consultant advice.![]()
Epilepsy, mental disorders or trigeminal neuralgia are contraindicated as sound may be triggering.![]()

🌸Start exfoliating asap, not just the night before your appointment !![]()
the better the skin is the better the tan. How much you exfoliate and with what depends on your skin. Start with using shower scrunchie or body brush or mittens while you shower, using just your regular shower wash. If you feel you need to use a product, the grainer doesn't mean the better , sometimes people are too abrasive with them and end up scratching and lining their skin and it doesn't look good when it's sprayed . Try something natural ie fine salts, oats etc.. that isn't too abrasive and it's harmless going down the pipe also 🌍![]()

🌸 Exfoliate what areas 🤷♀️? Everywhere.![]()
Generally focus areas are the ankles ,knees and elbows, which are boney areas and the skin tends to be a little rougher. Another area that can cause concern is the back of the upper arms and legs. It can have high pigment or bumpy or rough to touch or all 3 . These are main blood circulation areas that cause the difference in the skin that make it look different and feel a little tougher then the rest of the skin. Everyone has this to some degree. The body brushing is amazing for this. The skin will never be the same as all over , but by brushing you are improving the circulation, improving the condition of the skin in that area and the tan sits better . ![]()

🌸But think about what areas are exposed for the ocassion you're attending . Focus on having those areas buffed . ![]()
The Front of your chest beside your shoulder where your arms hinge, that area of skin can be so porous with tan so buff and moisturise that well.![]()
Something you may not think of....but can take from your lovely dress etc... is bra marks 👙and sock marks🧦.![]()
Think about it ... Wearing the same bras, they sit in the same spots on our skin causing friction to the skin. You may not see it, and sometimes I don't either until I have sprayed the area and it highlights where your bra has been sitting . Problem areas are under the arm area, on the side where the wire might sit and the clip area in the middle of the back and the front at either side of "the girls" . Backless dress , the back is the feature of it and now you have dark brown dry skin patch on it 😟 same with the socks , elastic areas sitting on the same areas , causing friction and drying the skin . So now you have tan stuck in those areas and your open sandals are now a closed court shoe 👠😟. ![]()
So don't forget about these areas .![]()

🌸Moisturise , Moisturise, Moisturise ..... ![]()
Everyday , especially on the areas you are a giving an extra buffing to .... Whatever moisturiser suits your skin is the one you should be using . Oils and cocoa butter based are fab , but sometimes I see that people love these and don't realise the are clogging their pores as they are too heavy , so find what suits you, whether it's chemist ,store ,salon or prescribed.![]()
Hands and feet are very important to moisturise. We use them the most and neglect them the most . They can be dry and when sprayed soak up the tan , so to avoid this don't forget to moisturise them.🤲👣 Do not wear moisturiser the day of your appointment, except for your face 🙂![]()

🌸 Hair removal to be done at least 24 hours before your tan appointment. If you know you you get bumps or dots after hair removal do it 2 days before the spray appointment to give the skin a chance to calm down . Everyone's fear here is they have super sonic rapid growth of leg hair and under arm and will have to shave the morning of the ocassion. So what I say is do the big hair removal before the tan and you can lightly go over these areas the day of ! This is if you shave . The reason is when you shave you can also remove some top layer of skin with hair when you are having a "close" shave so hense this would remove or patch your tan if you did it after your spray. If you get waxing done you won't have this issue . ![]()

🌸 Clothing before , during and after Tanning :![]()
Before : Stop wearing clothing that is marking you at least a week before your appointment. The Bra exchange maybe for a sports bra that doesnt mark you or supportive cami. Socks with tight elasticated bands , Skinny Jeans and leggings or gym skins give a line up the leg so avoid them also. ![]()
🌸 During: your tan appointment it's completely up to you what you wear. I supply disposable underwear, sticky feet and diposable caps . ![]()
You can wear your own under wear , swimsuit , towel , shorts etc... The choice is completely yours 🙂![]()
🌸 After: I dry your tan after spraying but no tan is 100% dry when leaving the salon so choice of clothing is key. Don't bring tight clothing to change in to. The clothes should not roll on your skin when you put them on You should be able to step in to pants without rolling up you legs , and tops should fall on to your body not be rolled down your arms and back . Skins, string stops , tight t shirts etc.... avoid . Loose dresses ,pjs, linen pants, jerseys are brilliant. Shorts are good but not if your sitting straight away in the car etc. .. you will sit and create a diamond shape and or transfer tan to the seat . So think before your appointment:) ![]()

🌸When to get sprayed ? ![]()
The tan generally develops in 4 hours for light 6 hours medium and 8 hours dark and overnight if you want darker. So think about your access to shower for making your appointment. It would be either 2 days or 1 day before your event or the morning of your night out 💋 The tan lasts about 5 days , Longer if you are moisturizing it and you can also use gradual tan to prolong the tan 😎![]()

🌸 For Brides trialing your tan book your makeup trial the same weekend ie get you tan done Thursday and book your makeup trial sat and wear white the following day after your tan and to your make up trial. It gives you the best overall idea . Remember your tan for your wedding is your complextion against white /cream/Ivory generally. It will be different from the tan you wear for a night out with the girls or going on holidays.Take selfies outside in natural light and inside . Look at your hands ,lots of photos are taken with hands ... you wedding bands , your bouquet ,holding hands etc... So make sure your tan is not too light or dark . ![]()
